Wednesday Workout – Abdominals Plus!

What’s the Plus for?  You get the added benefit of extension in this workout.  Abdominal exercises are all about flexion, crunching the abdominal wall and contracting it.  We sit and slouch most of the day so this workout routine adds an element of extension to also open you up!  Bonus!  Using props like a ball and a foam roller allow you to get more range of motion and you can go from extension, or an arched position, to flexion, or your crunch position.  Your chest and shoulders and hips will thank you!

Props Needed:

Mat

Foam Roller

2lb weights

A Ball

Perform about 10 repetitions of each exercise.  If you have any shoulder injuries or issues, do not use the weights.  Skip them and just perform the exercise without them.

For a more intense, advanced workout, do this series 2-3 times through.
