At the beginning of 2016 I cleaned out my closets and drawers. I purged! It felt good! I donated or threw out everything I hadn’t worn in a year.
What was I left with? 42 pairs of tights, leggings, workout or yoga pants (whatever you want to call them)
I know! Forty-two! Too much? Not sure.

First off, it’s my work wardrobe so that is the first justification.

Second, I sometimes change clothes twice a day as I get sweaty from the first workout so I shower and put on a new pair of tights.

Third justification…..they are making workout clothes too cute! Before you just had basic black leggings. Now, every season there is a new crop of tights with colors and designs and styles. The choices are endless. Basic black isnt even so basic anymore with mesh, sparkles, lace, cutouts, faux leather!

Fourth justification…I get a nice discount as an instructor. I’m an ambassador of sorts for these companies.
So here is what I did. I sorted my tights into 2 drawers. One for basic black and the other for colors and patterns. When I do laundry I put those tights at the bottom of the pile and only pull from the top of the pile for now. My goal since January has been to not repeat tights until I have gone through my inventory. How have I done? Pretty darn good! I’ve pulled from the bottom of the pile a few times when I needed inspiration or a pick me up. I’ve also not worn about 3 pair of the black leggings for various reasons, so maybe those need to go.
For the past 3 months I have not bought any new tights! It’s been very hard!!! I keep seeing cute styles! There is one pair in particular that keeps taunting me. Every day….there they are, still in my size! It’s like they are calling to me! I’ve resisted thus far!
However, yesterday Susan decided she needed some celebratory workout clothes for her new body, so I obliged and went with her. I DID NOT BUY ANY TIGHTS!!!!! BUT – I did buy some tops and tanks. I figured that was about as good of a trade off as I was going to get.
Now don’t ask about my shoes……… 🙂
