The Super Power of ACV – Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar.  As we begin a new week, here is some “food” for thought.  What are the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar and what is it’s claim to fame?  Here are 6 reasons to try it.

  • Helps Heartburn and Acid Reflux. When the body has too little acid in it, that is when we get acid reflux.  Taking one tablespoon a day of ACV can help with this.
  • Promotes Healthy Cholesterol. By protecting you from arterial damage, which leads to high cholesterol.
  • Can Aid in Healthy Weight Loss.  It helps to suppress your appetite and increase your metabolism
  • Promotes Healthy Blood Sugar.  ACV has anti-glycemic properties that support a healthy blood sugar level. The vinegar actually blocks some of the digestion of starch, preventing it from raising your blood sugar.
  • ACV has Antioxidant Properties. ACV contains many antioxidants to help keep your body healthy and running smoothly,
  • Improves Nutrient Absorption. Adding vinegar to your salad dressing may help you absorb more nutrients from your leafy greens!

Here’s a little “mocktail”  to help with the Slim Down/Weight Loss part of ACV:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Grapefruit Juice (can probably be swapped out for your favorite juice)
  • 2 tsp ACV – Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Raw Honey

Drink 30 minutes prior to your meal.  It will supposedly help break down fat faster.

Give it a shot….it can’t hurt with so many other good things going for it!
