I know, I know! I missed Monday Mat! I was traveling over the weekend doing my Pilates Teacher Training in Los Angeles and got home late Sunday night. But better late than never…..here is Monday Mat! Today’s exercises are the Single Leg Circles and The Rollup.
Single Leg Circles help with pelvic stability and learning to keep the pelvis stable while moving the limbs (legs). As you advance this exercise, you keep one side of your body stable while the other twists and rotates around.
The Rollup really targets your abdominals. The beginner exercise starts seated with legs bent. Your goal is to try to keep your feet on the floor and not let them pop off. This requires a lot of core strength. If you are a beginner, use a sandbag to weight your feet down or tuck your feet under something to hold them down. This will help you to correctly use your abdominals. As you get more advanced you start the exercise lying down with your legs long on the floor. Rollup smoothly without the feet popping off the floor.
