WTF – Walking Treadmill Fun!

I’m still focusing this month on trying to walk more than I usually do.  I’m trying to find opportunities to take a walk or do extra things to get more steps in.

Are you still trying to walk a little bit more each day?  I hope so!  Here is a Treadmill Workout for you to try.  It’s only 20 minutes.  You can repeat it twice if you want to log more steps.  The focus of this workout is hills, not speed.  Walk at the recommended incline and then adjust your speed so that you can continue to walk on the hill without grabbing onto the handrails.  Walk without hanging on please!  It’s not about speed, it’s about getting more steps in during your day.  It’s also about maintaing  good posture, so don’t hang on.

Treadmill Workout

5 minutes – Incline 0% – Speed 4.0mph

5 minutes – Incline 5% – Speed  3.5-3.8mph or slower if you need

5 minutes – Incline 10% – Speed 2.8-3.0 or slower if needed to not hang on

5 minutes – Incline 15% – Speed 2.0-2.5 or as needed

Your done!  20 minutes done!  Now try it again next time starting with the 15% incline and work your way down to the 0% incline!
