Monday Mat – A Breakdown of the Pilates Mat Exercises

Happy August!  I’ve got a new post for this month….Monday Mat!  I’m going to breakdown the Pilates Mat Exercises this month in the hopes that I answer some questions or help you get more out of the exercises.  I’ll show you beginner tips and how to progress the exercises to be more advanced.  I hope this helps with your Pilates Journey.  Please feel free to comment or ask questions because someone else may be thinking the same thing.  My hope is that you feel confident that you are doing the exercises correctly and getting more benefit from them after watching this series.

Today’s exercises are the Pilates 100, Rolling and Spine Stretch.  All three of these exercises are flexion exercises.  They bend the spine forward.  You want to make sure that you keep your spine limber by doing both flexion and extension exercises.

As Joe Pilates said, “If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old. IF it is completely flexible at 60, you are young!”  Keep moving and shaken’ and bending and twisting people!  🙂
