Since I didn’t do the traditional Christmas thing this year, I decided I needed to go shopping yesterday and buy myself some new “work”out clothes.
I’m a pretty loyal consumer of the brand Athleta. I like that a lot of their clothes are versatile enough to wear outside of the gym. They also have a good selection of jackets, sweaters, shoes and dresses that layer over your workout clothes. They are a local company that started in Petulama, so that makes me happy to keep it local (even though they are now owned by The Gap).

Fabletics by Kate Hudson – a cheaper alternative to Lululemon and Athleta.
Bandier – A NYC based company that sports mesh and leather like accents

Michi – Another not as well known brand that features more mesh, nylon and leather like accents.
A new trend this year? High waistbands! It makes sense and is really comfortable. No more having to pull your top down to cover your tummy. These high waisted leggings act as kind of a control top to keep reminding you to pull your stomach in or zip your zipper! The high waist allows you to twist and bend and stretch without worrying about your backside showing in downward dog or your tummy showing as you reach overhead for those pullups!
